I think this will work well. Are the figures creating specific poses, or will there be a routine that you have arranged. I think that the transitions from one model to the other will be important. This is a clear project to me now.
There is something that is compelling to the first image you have while the less defined silhouettes are not quite as interesting. If there is a way to have silhouettes with crisper defined edges that would help.
All of these are interesting enough that I would almost like to see a series or progression that each use the paintings and human figure/shadows differently. I would like to see how all these techniques look hung beside each other. I think the one with the painting projected on the face is most interesting, especially if it is going to be 6 ft tall. Another suggestion for the painting projected on the face could be making a stop motion of the painting being created and project that on a highly detailed photograph of someone's face, just a thought. Overall, I have a good idea of your desired aesthetic now and understand your project better. I believe it will be a very interesting piece.
